Government gives recreational cricket green light

We’re delighted that the UK Governement has recently given recreational cricket the green light after the Covid-19 suspension. This recent announcement sees us progress to Stage Four of the ECB’s roadmap for return of recreational cricket.

For Spencer Bruerne CC, this means we’ll shortly be able to arrange some fixtures, albeit in an altered format to the normal 40 or 50 over games played in the NCL.

We’ve some decisions to make to ensure we operate in a safe manner, but we’re hopeful that some kind of ‘normal’ will resume shortly.

Watch this space!!!

  1. Hi – I’m looking to play cricket again. I’ve just returned from being overseas and keen to play. I’m 55 and enjoy all parts of the game. I live in Wootton.

    1. Hi John, please feel free to drop into the club on game-days and make yourself known to us. We’ve a friendly on today (Sunday 19th), and every Saturday throughout July and August we’re playing in the Northamptonshire Cricket League. The club bar is also open Friday evenings if you want to pop down.
If you can email us spencerbruernecc@outlook.com with your contact details then we can get you a game!
